There are a myriad of ways one can volunteer in environmental efforts on Kiawah Island. You can pick up litter, help educate others on environmental issues, and much more. Sign up to get email updates on volunteer opportunities as they become available!
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities we offer:
Photography & Videography – Submit photography and video content for the Conservancy to use on social media and other digital or print media. We’ll use your submissions to create educational content and teach our community more about environmental and conservation issues.
Island Litter Sweep – Help keep Kiawah clean and fight plastic pollution by joining us for our monthly island sweep and litter pick up!
Educational Outreach at the Beach – Help to spread the word about RSVP Kiawah, our holistic educational approach to protecting the wildlife and habitat on Kiawah Island. Volunteers will conduct “roving interpretation” at Beachwalker County Park on Kiawah Island. This program will involve walking on the beach and around the park, speaking with visitors, and answering questions.
Contributing Writer – Write informational pieces on wildlife species, habitats, and special sightings for articles, blog posts, and more.
Events – Help us plan and put on events like our Earth Week Celebration, Garden Parties, and more.
Stewardship & Monitoring – Join our Land Preservation Specialist and team as we visit our preserved lands on regular stewardship visits to monitor the habitats we protect.
Sea Island Christmas Bird Count – Join Town of Kiawah Island biologist Aaron Given, and a team of volunteers for the annual Christmas Bird Count in early January.
Marathon/Triathlon – Join the Kiawah Conservancy in supporting the Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Marathon and Triathlon. As a volunteer, you will get to take part in these iconic yearly events by cheering on and supporting the athletes. On top of that, the Resort will make a donation to the Kiawah Conservancy in your honor!
