Join the Kiawah Conservancy for a week-long celebration of our natural world with events happening every day. See the week-long schedule of events below. Registration is required for all events except the Native Plant Pop-Up Shop on Oct 21.

Monday, October 17 @ 9 am:  Watercolor Workshop
Join artist and illustrator, Abby Nurre, for a Watercolor Workshop at the Marsh House. Paint a gorgeous morning marsh scene on Kiawah Island while you learn about native plants and the importance of the wetland ecosystems. Registration Required

Tuesday, October 18 @ 9 am:  Learning with Lee
Join the Kiawah Conservancy’s Sr. Ecological Health and Conservation Coordinator, Lee Bundrick, on a walk at The Preserve to learn about the Naturally Kiawah Recognition Program and how you can improve the ecological health in your yard. Registration Required

Tuesday, October 18 @ 4:30 pm: Cocktails with Collie
Join the Kiawah Conservancy’s Land Preservation Specialist, Collie Farah, in the Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden to learn more about wildlife-friendly landscaping and the benefits of native plants. Refreshments will be provided. Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden, Night Heron Park. Registration Required

Wednesday, October 19 @ 9 am: Coffee with Collie
Join our Preservation Specialist, Collie Farah, in the Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden to learn more about wildlife friendly landscaping and the benefits of native plants. Coffee will be provided. Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden, Night Heron Park. Registration Required

Wednesday, October 19 @ 3 pm:  Learning with Lee

Thursday, October 20 @ 9 am:  A Walk in Nature with Dr. Jane Ellis
Join us for a nature walk on the Conservancy’s Maritime Forest Reserve and Nature Trail with Dr. Jane Ellis as she shares her knowledge of the medicinal values of the plants of maritime forests. Registration Required

Thursday, October 20 @ 8 amBird Banding with Aaron Given
Come see wild birds up close, and learn about their biology and ecology.  Town of Kiawah biologists will demonstrate banding techniques as well as explain why we band birds and what we learn from monitoring them. The group will meet at Beachwalker County Park. Be prepared to walk at least one mile to get to the banding area on the beach, over dunes, and also into the habitat behind the dunes. Keep in mind that the area may be wet due to rain and tide. Registration Required

Thursday, October 20 @ 2 pm:  10 Ways That You Can Attract More Birds To Your Yard
Join Aaron Given, the Town of Kiawah Island’s Wildlife Research Assistant as he presents ways to attract more birds into your yard. Kiawah Island Town Hall. Registration Required

Friday, October 21 @ 9 am:  Native Plant Pop-Up Shop
The Kiawah Conservancy, Town of Kiawah Island, and Roots and Shoots Nursery will host a native plant sale on Friday, October 21 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Naturally Kiawah Demonstration Garden located at Night Heron Park (Kiawah Island Parkway)

If you are coming from off-island, please tell security at the gate that you are coming for whichever Native Plant Week event you will be attending that day. Should you need additional assistance with signing up, please contact Katie Warner at katie@kiawahconservancy.org
