Sponsor-A-Bobcat Habitat

What better way to leave your legacy on Kiawah than to support our bobcats by sponsoring one of the five bobcat habitat regions identified by the Town of Kiawah Island's Bobcat Management Guidelines? In years past one of our most sought after auction items has been the opportunity to Adopt-A-Bobcat. It was with great sadness and deep concern that we are unable to offer that popular option this year due to the steep decline in our bobcat population. Pesticides, vehicles, and the loss of habitat are three of the biggest obstacles to bobcat survival. Help us help Kiawah's bobcats by adopting one of these five bobcat habitat regions. Working together we can help restore this beloved symbol of Kiawah's wildlife and diversity by ensuring they have the habitat they need to thrive.

Morgan Island Excursion with a One-Night Stay at a Historic Edisto Island Beach Cottage for Six

Boy, do we have a surprise for you! Monkeys…. right off the coast of South Carolina! Captain Phillip Albenesius, a Certified Master Naturalist and US Coast Guard licensed Master Mariner with over 40 years of experience shrimping, fishing and exploring the waters of the South Carolina coast, will be your guide for this unforgettable three hour adventure. You will cross the breadth of the ACE Basin to see Morgan Island, managed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and home to a free ranging colony of 3,500 Rhesus monkeys. The boat will leave the Edisto Marina, Dock Slip 10 at daybreak to increase your chances of seeing the monkeys in the open. The night prior to your boat trip will be spent at one of five remaining original beach cottages on Edisto Island. The cottage, Just Sew, with its four bedrooms (all with queen beds with additional bunk beds in one of the rooms), three and a half bathrooms, full kitchen, dining area, and living room, was named in honor of the family’s 30-year ownership of the tailor shop on Parris Island.

Important note: Visitors are not allowed on Morgan Island. This is strictly a boat trip with no guarantee of seeing monkeys. They are usually accommodating, and the scene is something you are more likely to see in Central America than South Carolina. Even when the monkeys don’t show, the trip is spectacular offering wildlife and scenery opportunities in a completely saltwater environment.

Restrictions: The Edisto Beach house is available at a mutually agreed upon time November 30, 2020 to April 30, 2021 excluding holidays. Expires April 30, 2021.

Three Pack 2011 Barrett & Barrett Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:

Tasted 11/29/14 by Heidi Barrett
This is one of the stars of the 2011 vintage, fully ripe and dense from our early ripening vineyards in Calistoga. Aromas of blackberry pie, currants, roasted coffee, dried black cherries and cocoa powder. The enticing layered aromas lead to a mouth coating lush silky palate. So easy to love. Sourced from our two vineyard sites; the new block developed specifically for this wine and the original Barrett vineyard at the foot of Mount Saint Helena. The combination of balance, finesse and length is just delicious.

Tasting Notes:

11/28/2016 by Heidi and Bo Barrett
This 2013 is a huge expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from this vintage, an absolutely gorgeous example of powerful Napa Valley fruit. A deep, dark black ruby in color, it gives layers of rich, perfumed aromas that continue to develop in the glass over time. Deep, intense notes of cassis, mocha, blackberry pie, and toasty sweet French oak. Explosive flavors follow the amazing aromatics. Luscious and dense texture across the palate with moderate, chewy tannins and great length in the finish. It's the best possible combination of power and elegance. Extremely concentrated, voluptuous, and certain to be a great bottle for your cellar for years to come. Don't miss it!
